The collection and preservation of paintings and other memorabilia relating to the family Quarles van Ufford, and holding together this collection.

The Board is authorized to lend the goods owned by the Foundation to persons called Quarles or persons affiliated with the Quarles family. Goods can also be lent for exhibitions to museums or other institutions.

The Board of the Foundation consists of a number of members of the family Quarles van Ufford, except the treasurer, who is not member of the family. On the recommendation of the board, the board can be expanded to include individuals with specific knowledge or background. The chairman and secretary are responsible for the activities to keep the collection in the status as it is now and responsible to make the collection available for exhibitions.
